National Patrol Leaders Training Camp
The initiation of guiding activities in the Maldives occurred on 31st December 1951, during the First Democratic regime. The guides were originally established for the Presidential Inauguration. Notably, guides were present at various formal occasions as a protocol for the President and distinguished dignitaries visiting the nation. However, guiding activities were discontinued after approximately one year.
On July 4, 1996, we attained Associate Membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), and got full membership on July 2, 1999. Consequently, we commemorate our membership anniversary on July 2.
We are honored and eagerly anticipate the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Girl Guiding in the Maldives in 2026.
