Impact

We aim to create a lasting impact through meaningful programs and events that empower our members—our girls and young women. From national camps to local service projects and global programs to international gatherings, every event is designed to build confidence, leadership, and life skills.

These experiences inspire members to take action—whether it’s consciously championing sustainability, supporting their communities, or advocating for issues affecting girls and young women.

Each event is more than just an activity; it’s a stepping stone toward positive change—at home, in the community, in the nation, and around the world.

National Patrol Leaders Training Camp

For the past 23 years, the Patrol Leaders Training Camp has been a flagship leadership development experience for girls aged 12 to 17 in the Girl Guide Branch. Each year, girls from across the country come together to learn, grow, and connect in a supportive and empowering environment.
This dynamic four day camp focuses on developing core leadership skills through engaging activities, team challenges, and hands-on experiences. Participants are empowered to lead with confidence and take on responsibilities within their patrols and communities.

In recent years, the training has been further enriched with pre-camp sessions, the integration of relevant badge curricula from the WAGGGS Global Programme. This addition ensures a more comprehensive and globally aligned learning journey for all participants.

Plastic Tide Turners Challenge

“Taking Action Against Plastic Pollution and Climate Change”

Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Plastic Tide Turners Challenge empowers young people to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable living. Girls and young women are disproportionately affected by climate change — especially in small island nations like the Maldives.

We adapt this badge to reflect the realities of our unique island environment, where the impact of plastic pollution and climate change is deeply felt in our daily lives. The programme encourages girls and young women to become agents of change by actively engaging in community-led initiatives such as beach clean-ups, plastic reduction drives, upcycling projects, and educational awareness campaigns.
