Guiders

Adult leaders or Guiders are volunteers who are enthusiastic, friendly , self motivated  who love to work with children. They always puts others first. Females  above 16 years who is interested to become a Guider can join the Guide movement. They undergo different levels of trainings.

Level 1 & 2 is the basic training under gone by the leaders and they will be enrolled as Guiders. The joy of taking the Promise and Law as a way of life and rendering their service to the best of their ability and to uphold its aims and ideals. Upon completion of Level 1& 2 they will be eligible to run a company/unit of any branch.

To go to the next Level a Guider has to run a company/unit for three months and apply for warrant. A warranted Guider is eligible to do Guiders Level 3 training which is the Training on camping skills. 

After completion of Level 3 training the Guider can be a trainer. The Trainer levels are the Bronze, Silver and the Gold Palm.

About 85% of Guiders are teachers, the reason for this is in Maldives the Girl Guide programme is run as a school based program. Guiders/Adult Leaders get the opportunity to develop children in the schools to become better citizens. They get training opportunities for personal growth and development locally and internationally.

The expertise, skills interest and time gives them opportunity to be members in the Executive board and become Commissioners. The commitment hard work and enthusiasm of the Adult leaders/Guiders and Commissioners keeps the Girl Guide movement alive.
